Will Work For Food

If people have to work for it, it's proven they'll eat smaller portions, says Dr. Madelyn Fernstrom, founder and director of the UPMC Weight Management Center at the University of Pittsburgh. Make eating less convenient by playing a game of hard-to-get, especially while entertaining. Serve peanuts in the shell and candy in wrappers rather than a chocolate sampler or a bowl of M&M's. (Psst... this also makes it easier on the hostess!) Confine food to the kitchen so your guests have to pursue it on their own. Hey, if it works in relationships...
